Our beloved and very useful IME-USP (GNU)Linux Network needs help, mobilization and more involvement from students who can contribute and participate in some way, whether as a scholarship holder or as a volunteer. Therefore, we are launching the “2023 (GNU)Linux Network Course”, an initiative open to the entire USP community, with the aim of covering essential topics related to the administration of a (GNU)Linux network. The course will consist of five face-to-face classes and one hybrid (with the teacher via videoconference): 1st Day - 19/09, Tuesday, 1pm: Introduction and Concept of Free Software (in person) 2nd Day - 09/20, Wednesday, 1pm: Linux Environment, Directories, Files and Main Commands in the Terminal (in person) 3rd Day - 09/21, Thursday, 1pm: The Boot Process and Process Management in Linux (in person) 4th Day - 09/22, Friday, 1pm: Security and Linux (in person) 5th Day - 26/09, Tuesday, 1pm: Networks (in person) 6th Day - 27/09, Wednesday, 6pm: Packages and Graphic Environments (exceptionally, the lecturer will be remote) In particular, those interested in becoming administrators of the (GNU)Linux Network are encouraged to attend the course to get an introduction and interact with current administrators. Your contribution, whether as a scholarship holder or volunteer, is fundamental to the administration of the IME-USP (GNU)Linux Network. Please help with this mobilization and participate if you can. If you have any questions, please contact admin@linux.ime.usp.br. The IME-USP (GNU)Linux Network has been free, for everyone, since 1997! “We are, therefore, creatures nourished with freedom for a long time, with the disposition to sing it, love it, fight for it and certainly die for it. … Finally, to be free is to be responsible, it is to repudiate the condition of automaton and remote control it is to proclaim the luminous triumph of the spirit. (I suppose that’s it.)” – Cecília Meireles
