Abstract:

While virtualization was prototyped by IBM in 1967, the x86 platform has only received proper virtualization support around 2005-2006. This talk will focus on full virtualization, with emphasis on the free/open source VirtualBox, developed by Sun Microsystems.

What is the CCSL

The CCSL (FLOSS Competence Center) at USP encompasses activities related to undergraduate and graduate education, research, development, and publicizing of Free and Open Source Software at USP and is comprised of formally established centers at the city of São Paulo (IME) and São Carlos (ICMC). Its main goal is to foster the development, research, and adoption of FLOSS (Freely-licensed Open Source Software) both inside and outside the University.
