The View From Inside the Dropbox: How It Evolved, Where It's Going Next

The CCSL invites everyone to attend a sandwich-lunch+lecture on Dropbox with Dan Wheeler, one of the developers of the system.

Abstract: Interested in how Dropbox's backend works, where it all began, and where it's heading? Curious about how to build a cloud storage system that serves over a hundred million users? We’ll give an in-depth description of the Dropbox backend, outline the technical challenges moving forward, and highlight current projects that are taking Dropbox to the next order of magnitude.

Presenter: Dan Wheeler.
After graduating from MIT, Dan joined Dropbox as one of its first employees. He is responsible for much of the early development of Dropbox and is very active in leading the development of key features.
