Abstract: Linux-libre is a project that aims to publish and maintain 100% free linux distributions, removing software that is usually included without source code, with obfuscated source code, under non-free licences and software that suggests or requires the installation and use of additional non-free software.

About the speaker: Alexandre Oliva is a free software evangelist, member of the administrative counsil of the Free Software Foundation Latin America (FSFLA),GNU developer and compilation engineer at RedHat working with gcc.

What is the CCSL

The CCSL (FLOSS Competence Center) at USP encompasses activities related to undergraduate and graduate education, research, development, and publicizing of Free and Open Source Software at USP and is comprised of formally established centers at the city of São Paulo (IME) and São Carlos (ICMC). Its main goal is to foster the development, research, and adoption of FLOSS (Freely-licensed Open Source Software) both inside and outside the University.
